In 1978, Jacques Halbert made his first trip to the United States, invited to the Washington art fair. On this occasion, he traveled to New York, where he met the artist Jean Dupuy, who helped him settle there. Through him, Halbert became involved in the avant-garde art scene, particularly with members of Fluxus as well as younger emerging artists.
Jacques Halbert then took part in numerous performances and experienced the final years of what was referred to as “Collective Consciousness.”
